Taste Delicious Little Italy!
Located just a short stroll east of the Inner Harbor, Baltimore's Little Italy is famous for its abundance of fabulous restaurants, carry-outs, and bakeries (around 30), featuring authentic Italian cuisine, traditional and contemporary, from many regions of Italy, including Northern, Tuscan, Central, Southern, and Sicilian. The beautiful St.Leo's Roman Catholic Church (1881) is a National Historic Shrine. Little Italy holds the Feast of St. Anthony Festival in June and the Feast of St. Gabriel Festival in August. Lots of food and fun for all! Little Italy also holds the free open-air film festival every Friday night in July and August. Nearby attractions include the Phoenix Shot Tower (1828, at the time the tallest structure in the US, a National Historic Landmark), the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House (1793, a National Historic Landmark), and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum.
